We often think of the different ways there are to make our bodies conform to what we want. If the only goal you have is to lift heavy weights, you must lift heavy weights. Never picking up anything heavy will not make you stronger. We must make our bodies adapt. Our bodies adapt because we’ve challenged it – given it something that’s hard to handle. We break it down so it will rebuild stronger. We’ve often said that the whole self works this way; if you’re at a 4th grade reading level and you continue to read 4th grade level books, you’ll never progress to 5th grade and beyond. It’s our nature to adapt to what challenges us, which begs the question, “Does it work in reverse?” I think the answer is obvious.
